For my Junior Thesis, I had to pick a piece of media to adapt into 16 pages.
I chose to adapt the Musical “In The Heights”. I resonated with the immigration stories, and the themes of family bonds, love, and sacrifice passed through generations. I wanted to focus on the characters Nina and Abuela Claudia,
and their struggles with immigrating to the United States, and trying to live up to their parents’ expectations.
